Programs
In these early stages children are constantly changing and developing. Our three programs, Infant, Toddler and Preschool, allow us to better work with children at their developmental levels. Our facility is equipped with three separate rooms designed specifically for each age group.

Infant Program

The Infant Program is open to seven children. At a minimum, this program is supervised by a teacher and a teacher’s aide. Infants in this room age from one to fifteen months. Sleeping, eating, and play schedules are introduced to each child according to their needs. Our staff has been caring for infants for many years. Many have also raised their own children and are happy to lend their knowledge to you. At the heart of our program is an effort to provide an emotionally secure environment with stimulating opportunities to develop children’s senses and motor skills.

Toddler Program

The Toddler Program is open to nine children. At minimum, it is supervised by a teacher and a teacher’s aide. Children in this room range from 15 months to 2 years 9 months. This room is also licensed to accommodate infants if needed. The program follows routines including eating, sleeping, hand/face washing, toileting/diapering and activity time. Toddlers are curious and active and ready for increased social independence and enhanced gross motor activities. The goal of this program is to provide an emotionally secure environment in which they can begin to truly explore their world.

Preschool Program
The Preschool Program is open to 20 children. At a minimum, it is supervised by a teacher and a teacher’s aide. Children in this room range from 33 months to kindergarten age. It is the intent of this program to prepare children socially and academically for the kindergarten environment. Emphasis is placed on developing social, listening and verbal skills as well as muscle coordination. The children are taught to follow verbal directions and are encouraged to share and engage in group play. They are introduced to pre-reading and pre-math skills such as number, letter, and shape recognition. Science and social studies are taught to stimulate each child’s own curiosity and help to develop well-rounded thinking and investigation habits. All topics are taught in conjunction with play so that children may grow in a stress-free, fun environment. Our classroom is also equipped with a computer full of age appropriate software.

We want our children to be life-long readers. Our curriculum includes the presentation of age-appropriate literature, providing and early foundation for reading. One highlight of our curriculum is the inclusion of the Scholastic Clifford Magazine. This four pages magazine captivates youngsters with fun stories and illustrations as well as age-appropriate learning activities based on the monthly theme.

Along with the magazine, we also include the Macmillan Whole Language Big Book Program, which encourages children as they take their first steps toward independent reading. This series of books is written to incorporate rhythm, rhyme, and repetition and pictures to help children anticipate the next word they read.

We also aim to reinforce proper age-appropriate social interactions. We will encourage the children to use proper table manners, and to play independently. If your child is not toilet trained, we will encourage them to use the toilet. Along with proper reinforcement at home, we can work together so that this milestone can be reached.
